Lantz Medical steps out in Chicago as Thuasne USA

For Immediate Release 03/16/2022 – Lantz Medical joins the Thuasne USA team in Chicago for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) 2022 Annual Meeting.

Taking place March 23-25 at McCormick Place, this is Lantz Medical’s first time stepping out under their new brand, Thuasne USA.

“We are really excited to be in Chicago with our colleagues.” says VP of Clinical Education Perry Mervar. “This is our first opportunity to join forces and show providers what Lantz Medical can do as Thuasne USA.”

Mervar, co-founded Lantz Medical in 2005 and remained with the company following its acquisition by the Thuasne Group in 2019. Mervar now leads clinical education and product management for what will be Thuasne USA’s rehabilitation line of static/dynamic splinting.

Lantz Medical’s rebrand is set to officially launch on June 1st and includes the rebrand of their sister company orthopedic bracing manufacturer, Townsend Design. Based in Bakersfield, CA, Townsend Design was acquired by the Thuasne Group in 2011 and has been operating as a Thuasne USA company for several years, they will join Lantz Medical under the Thuasne USA banner, finalizing a brand transition that began more than a decade ago.

“Between dynamic splinting and orthopedic bracing, the combined product offering from our two companies is inspiring,” says Derek Giancola, VP of Marketing and Education for Thuasne USA. Giancola works directly with Mervar and the Townsend Design product management team. His main focus in 2022 is creating a cohesive brand strategy that harnesses the power of both companies to bring something unique to patient and provider.

“There is so much momentum behind both brands, and the talent on both sides is so strong,” says Giancola, “I’m looking forward to what we can do as a team to bring innovative products and amazing service to our customers.”

Change on the way for Lantz Medical and Thuasne USA

Big changes are on the way for Lantz Medical. As of June 1st, 2022 Lantz Medical will be Thuasne (Tu-An) USA, the American subsidiary of The Thuasne Group. Founded in 1847, The Thuasne Group is a medical device manufacturer based in Saint-Etienne, France with subsidiaries across the globe. Lantz Medical joins American medical device manufacturers Townsend Design and Quinn Medical under the Thuasne USA banner.

As a part of Thuasne USA, Lantz Medical’s products and services have grown, offering a wide range of solutions that include custom and off-the-shelf bracing for knee, spine, foot and ankle, and more in addition to the static/dynamic splinting Lantz Medical customers and patients know and trust.
